Honoring the Legacy of Business Manager Valentino B. Ceria
After nearly five decades of dedicated service to the Plumbers & Fitters Local Union 675, Business Manager Val Ceria is retiring, leaving behind an extraordinary legacy of leadership, integrity, and commitment to the labor movement. Val's journey began in the Philippines, where he was born before moving to the island of Lanai at the age of seven, not yet speaking a word of English. Soon after, his family relocated to Oahu, where he grew up in Kalihi and attended and graduated from Farrington High School.

Aloha Members, I'm pleased to share some positive updates with you. Our Pension Fund is 100% fully funded and remains in the green zone. Both our Health and Welfare Fund and our Annuity Fund are also strong and well-funded. I'm glad to report that MC Group Hawaii Inc. has completed the 2024 financial audit with no significant findings. Year after year, our audits have come back clean, reflecting the careful stewardship of your funds.

Congratulations to the eighteen recipients of the 2025 Plumbers and Fitters Local 675 'Imi Loa Foundation Scholarship. This marks the largest number of scholarships awarded to date. Established in 2013 by the Union through an employer-negotiated contribution from each Local 675 contractor, the 'Imi Loa Foundation awarded each recipient $2,000 in scholarship funds. On Sunday, August 31st, members and their families gathered for the annual Labor Day Unity Picnic at the Waikiki Shell. Local 675 joined with fellow Labor Unions for a day of camaraderie, collaboration, and celebration. Families enjoyed complimentary food and treats, including Ju-Mui and Samurai Ice Cake provided by Local 675.
