Plumbers & Fitters UA Local 675 Endorsements 2026 Hawai`i Primary Elections, Saturday August 8th
Your Vote Counts!!
Primary Election Day is almost here. Absentee ballots should be hitting your mailboxes around mid July, and it's more important than ever to make sure your voices are heard. Our country is celebrating 250 years of existence as a representative democracy, and every day that goes by brings new challenges that test the very principles that America was founded on, and which sets us apart.
The one principle that ensures that our representative democracy endures is exercising our right to vote, and to choose who we would like to represent our interests in elected office. Following is a list of candidates that the Plumbers and Fitters UA Local 675 is asking you to consider voting for in the upcoming Primary Elections to be held on Saturday, August 8th. Absentee ballots should be arriving as early as mid July and we encourage all our members and their families to vote accordingly.
The listed candidates are those who have a primary race and are not uncontested, or are those that share our union values, and committed to working with us to ensure the continued growth and prosperity of our members, their families and our industry.
If you have not already registered to vote or have any questions regarding the upcoming election, please visit: https://elections.hawaii.gov/ or https://elections.hawaii.gov/register-to-vote/.
Although all the primary races are important to Local 675, three specific races stand out and are absolutely critical to our Union `ohana. The three races are the race(s) for Mayor of Maui and Kaua`i, as well as the race for Honolulu City Council District IV.
We are humbly asking our members on Maui to please support and vote for Yuki Lei Sugimura. Yuki has been a strong supporter of our Union and our industry and will serve Maui well.
On Kaua`i we are asking our Kaua`i `ohana to please support and vote for Mel Rapozo. Mel has a plan to move Kaua`i forward and is committed to working closely with Local 675 to implement it.
Lastly, we are asking you to vote for the re-election of incumbent City Councilman Tommy Waters from District IV which covers east O`ahu. Tommy is a very close friend of Local 675 and is currently the Chair of the Honolulu City Council. His re-election is important to our continued success and prosperity.
If you have any questions or would like additional information regarding the upcoming elections, please call Kika G. Bukoski at (808) 441-1033.
