Chiropractic, Acupuncture And Therapeutic Massage Benefit Improvements Effective March 1, 2026
The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce a new benefit improvement to the Plan. Prior to March 1, 2026, the Plan covered a chiropractic visit, limited to 12 visits per Calendar Year. The Plan paid $45 per visit out of network. The plan did not cover acupuncture or therapeutic massage at this time.
Effective for services on or after March 1, 2026, the Plan will cover up to 36 visits per year for Chiropractic, Acupuncture and Therapeutic Massage visits combined. The copay for each visit is $10 per visit. This benefit is offered through American Specialty Health (ASH).
Please note that if you use an out-of-network provider (i.e., a provider who is not affiliated with ASH), the service will be covered at 50% of billed charges, up to a maximum benefit of $30 per visit. The annual visit maximums are in and out-of-network combined, however out-of-network visits cannot exceed 12 visits per year.
