UA Visits Training

During the week of April 18th, Local 675 was pleased to host Aaron Stockwell, UA International Representative for California and Hawaii, and Brother Patrick Dolan, Jr., UA Director of Metal Trades. They were here to visit our Local Union and Training Department for the first time as well as our sister Metal Trades Local 811 in Pearl Harbor. At the end of their stay, Brothers Stockwell and Dolan expressed their gratitude for the hospitality and “getting to know about your local a bit better.” They were both impressed with the Union accomplishments as well as the achievements of the Training division.

School to Start-Up

The Fall 2022 semester is coming up soon! Classes will start on August 8 – 9th. The online registration will open up on July 4 – 9th. “Each student has their own PAMCAH apprentice account. This is where they would need to log in to their account and make payment for registration,” said Head Training Coordinator, Dean Kobashigawa. 56th Annual Apprenticeship Graduation

The 56th Annual Apprenticeship Graduation ceremony sponsored by the Honolulu Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry will be held at the Hilton Hawaiian Village on Saturday, July 9th. The graduating class will be for Fall 2021 – Spring 2022 semesters.

Construction Career Day

Training is participating in the CCD (Construction Career Day) event this year. It will be held at the Aloha Stadium on September 29 -30th. “This is a great event where about 800 students from high schools and middle schools come out to participate in actual activities in the construction industry. We will have activities relating to the trades that we offer in our apprenticeship program,” explained Head Training Coordinator Dean Kobashigawa. He mentioned there is also going to be a CCD event on Kauai, November 3rd at the Kauai Community College campus.
