Labor Day Unity Picnic

The annual Labor Unity Picnic kicked off the Labor Day Weekend at the Waikiki Shell in celebration of our local working Ohana. Local 675, along with other fellow Unions, celebrated the members and their families with live music from local entertainers such as ‘Nesian Nine’ and ‘Ten Feet’. Ono food was enjoyed from multiple eateries such as ‘Sugoi’s’, and there were continuous giveaways and door prizes throughout the night. Good times were shared, and families enjoyed games for the keiki, prizes, and treats.

Business Manager, Val Ceria noted, “It’s gratifying to have the Unions come together and to be able to hold this event for our members and their families. We had a great turnout this year, and we hope to continue to make this an event to look forward to.”

There was also the opportunity for our elected political leaders to visit and meet one-on-one with the local unions and their members. Mayor Rick Blangiardi was among one of our leaders, who came by in support.

The Local 675 tent served Samurai Ice Cake and Ju Mui treats – a cooling treat for members and families. Training staff set up a fun ‘Toilet Toss’ game to play, complete with cool prizes to win.
