Congratulations to Head Training Coordinator Chuck Shima

After 35 years in the Union with the past 10 years at the Apprenticeship Training Office, our Brother Chuck Shima has joined the retiree ranks. His parting words were, “Thank you to Local 675 for the opportunity to serve as the Training Coordinator over the past years. It has been an honor and I am grateful to have been a part of the well-respected Plumbers and Fitters UA Local 675 Apprenticeship Program.” Mahalo for your dedicated service Chuck, and a retirement well-deserved!

Honoring 222 New Apprentice Graduates

The 222 graduated apprentices were honored at the July 10th PAMCAH-UA Local 675 commencement at the Hawaii Convention Center. Due to last year’s cancelled graduation, this year’s dinner ceremony marked the combination of the 54th and 55th graduation celebration sponsored by the Honolulu Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry. Curt Balanay, President of PAMCA (Plumbing & Mechanical Contractors Association), Business Manager Valentino Ceria, and Vice President Benjamin Panis speaking on behalf of UA Special Representative Derrick Kualapai, who could not be there, addressed the apprentices with congratulatory messages. The apprentices were each recognized and congratulated by JATC Chairman, David Fujikawa and Training Coordinator, Chuck Shima. Finally, the apprentices were acknowledged and accepted as graduates by Union Business Manager and Training Trust Fund Chairman, Valentino Ceria. Congratulations and Best Wishes to the Graduating Class of 2019, 2020, and 2021!
