Kamehameha Schools Partners With Construction Unions

A recent gathering celebrated the execution of a 20-year Agreement that solidified and expanded the partnership between the Kamehameha Schools (KS), and various construction trades unions including the Plumbers and Fitters, Local 675, for potential future projects in Kāpalama, Mō`ili`ili, Kaonohi, Kāhala, Waipahu, Kāne`ohe, and its three main school campuses on the islands of O`ahu, Hawai`i Island, and Maui with an estimated value of three billion dollars.

“We are very pleased with our continued partnership with Kamehameha Schools”, Local 675 Business Manager Valentino Ceria stated. “They (KS) have been great supporters of our working men and women in the trades and we look forward to building on our relationship and the opportunities that lay ahead.”

“We have a saying Pūpūkāhi i holomua, meaning “unite to progress.” In this spirit, this agreement connects us all to move forward to build stronger, more sustainable communities for our ‘ohana and keiki,” said Trustee Lance Wilhelm. CEO Jack Wong added, “Today marks another step as we continue our journey toward a brighter and more sustainable future for us all. This agreement signals many things, from a commitment to economic recovery to providing jobs and careers for our ‘ohana, which most importantly provides for our keiki.
