The Training Office has mailed members its Spring 2010 schedule for journeymen that includes 14 specialized courses. Dates and number of hours vary with each course. The first class will be on Jan. 4 with the last class to end on April 28.

Of special note are the First Aid/CPR classes, scheduled for Saturdays 7:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Pearl City Training Workshop, 97-731-B Kamehameha Highway.

The others are the OSHA 10 classes, also to be held Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Iwilei Training Workshop, 720 Iwilei Road, 2nd floor.

In both instances, enrollees pay a $20 refundable deposit in order to confirm a spot in the class. That means calling early because of limited class size. For First Aid, call 456-585 ext. 21; OSHA 10, call 456-7131 ext. 33.

Parking at either facility is limited. The class dress code: long pants, shirt (no tank tops), covered shoes. Bring pen or pencil.
