AFL-CIO 2017 Scholarship
The Hawaii State AFL-CIO 2017 Scholarship of up to $1,500 is open to High School students in the State of Hawaii who plan to attend a community college, university, vocational or trade school on a full-time basis.
Interested applicants will need to submit an essay about the importance of labor unions in Hawaii . The essay may be written from a personal point of view or a historical perspective and should not be more than 1,000 words. In addition to the essay, applicants will need to include a cover letter with - name, address, phone number, email address and what type of school you plan to attend. There will be three scholarships awarded in the amount of $1,500, $1,000 and $500. All submissions must be received by mail or email by Friday, April 28:
